One in Christ

The theme for this coming Sunday is ”Unity in Christ”. Christians have always had different opinions when I comes to different issues. All through the Bible we can read about this. The history of the Church is also full of this. There is nothing wrong with this. We don’t have to think alike as Christians. Discussions about what is important can be very fruitful. It becomes a problem when we refuse to accept each others as brothers and sisters in Christ because our difference in opinions. The division of the Church into fractions based on difference of opinions and the struggle for power started early on. One can only feel sadness when one thinks about it. For me our congregation is a step in the right direction. Every Sunday people from different parts of the world and from different background when it comes to culture and faith meet up to worship together. For me, and hopefully for others, our differences adds something to our worship. We come from different parts of the world and different backgrounds – but we are one in Christ! If we accept each other and learn from each other Christ is glorified. So come and be a part of it. Come and manifest our unity in Christ. This coming Sunday, there will be a Prayer service with lots of music in the Cathedral at 5 pm. Dean Håkan E Wilhelmsson will lead the service. Readings: Amos 9:11-15, 1 Cor 1:10-13, John 17:18-23.
